Grounded in Excellence: The Legacy of Lucien Chabot
At its heart and soul, L. Chabot Enterprises Ltd. is a proud family business. For over half a century, three generations of Chabots have built a successful enterprise by embracing the values of loyalty, commitment, and respect – for each other, for their staff, for their partners, and for their clients.
It all started in the late 1950s when Lucien (Lou) Chabot launched his career in the trucking industry. By 1965, Lou purchased and operated his first truck. With hard work came success; with success came more trucks and his first loader. In 1969, Lou incorporated as L. Chabot Enterprises Ltd. In 1975, Lou’s son Chubb joined the business. Together, Lou and Chubb grew and diversified the enterprise and purchased the company’s first gravel pit in the 1990s.
Lou was respected in the industry as a man of his word, with fortitude and a dedicated work ethic. Lou passed away in 2002 and Chubb became President, a position he holds to this day with his family by his side.
Spanning three generations and over a half century of operations, Chabot has gained a position of industry leadership in Manitoba. The company has remained efficient and focused on meeting the needs of an ever-changing construction and land development marketplace.
In the spirit of its founder, Chabot conducts itself in the community with integrity, gratitude, a spirit of partnership, and a deep, unwavering pride in the family’s aboriginal heritage.
